Reviews on Warface

When I initially started playing Warface I was amazed. Trailers for the game had shown a promising first person shooter and blended mechanics from some of my favorite games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield. Being as it is still in beta form (open beta at the moment) there are expected issues that you can run into.  The following is my personal review on the Warface game.

Crytek's Warface brings the classic first person shooter genre into the free to play zone. The game shows signs of a promising experience. Like most shooters you and your teammates strive to eliminate the other team and gather the necessary amount of points needed to win the game. In doing so you will need to communicate with your team to create a strategic advantage in order to win. Remember, it is a team effort!

In Warface you can play how you decide to play! If your an assault rifle user and enjoy spraying and praying while navigated the map then by all means shoot away! Perhaps you are like me and enjoy nothing more than seeing the enemies head line up with your cross hairs while you sit on the rooftop of a distant building. You can also pick a support class in which you can heal your teammates and yourself while toting around a powerful shotgun and defibrillator paddles, which you can kill with. This is especially fun as you can watch the enemy be electrocuted in front of your face. A very unique and thrilling action if i do say so. You can also use a speedy engineer who runs through the streets brandishing an SMG. You can change between classes whenever you want so the play style really depends on how you choose to play the game.

The maps are astounding, providing plenty of cover and great hiding spots as well. They also provide a very smooth and clean visual. Each map has several bottle necks to corner enemies and plenty of open areas as well. They also provide equal opportunity for both teams and for the most part show no advantage for which team you are playing on.

The combat in warface is very unique, adding a very effective slide to the gameplay. This new concept adds a new variable for most people to adapt to. It can be a little tricky at first but once mastered is an essential technique. You also have to switch between your weapon and knife by using the D-pad which can cause a little issue to the unseasoned gamer. Once your knife is out you have two different attacks. A fast and light damaging attack and a slower but more effective swing. You can also change your weapons attachments in game, which allows many more opportunities during combat.

There are still alot of bugs ranging from people performing wall climbs to your hit markers showing up late. Keep in mind however that it is an open beta and the problems are still being fixed. There are alot of lag issues and server problems as of right now, but i have full faith that this game will make a great addition to the free to play category of games.
